AC Junior Medics

Aimed at 11-18 Year Olds in Schools and Clubs etc.

We have been providing basic first aid training for in excess of 10 years to children of all ages in local schools and clubs, from basic life support first aid skills up to Emergency First Aid At Work (Level 3 RQF) to Duke of Edinburgh Students and 6th Formers.

 

The National Curriculum from 2020 will include basic life support for younger children and more advanced first aid for senior school pupils and thus we are now offering specific age targetted first aid training for children of all ages in schools and other organisations.

AC Junior Medics is aimed at senior school age children and we increase the content level based on age and ability:

The curriculum, dependent on the age of the group, can include:

• What is First Aid?
  
• What to expect to find in first aid kits
  
• DRABC and Resuscitation (CPR)
  
• The Recovery Position and its uses
  
• Cuts, bleeds and burns
  
• Asthma
  
• Asphyxia including choking and anaphylaxis
• Shock
  
• Safety
  
• Calling 999
  

We can of course expand on this to cover more complex first aid, although this will tend to cross over into Emergency First Aid at Work (level 3 RQF), which we can of course deliver on a certificated or uncertificated basis depending on your requirements (minimum age for EFAW certification is 15 years).

There is no national standard of achievement for senior school training however we award each child a certificate, and we also supply the organisation with a template to reproduce them if a certificate is lost.

All of our first aid instructors are parents with a vast experience of teaching children of all ages, are enhanced CRB checked and qualified to teach all levels of first aid including paediatric.
